Slovenia, 1973. Three brothers confront daily life in their village in different ways. While the oldest returns as a wealthy guest worker, the younger brothers who have stayed at home fight against the progressing disintegration of the village structure: the town is battling a cattle disease, and the money behind the nearby border lures the men to Austria. But will they have a better life there? A bitter summer tale about futile hopes and unrealized dreams.
