Elfi is 50 and works in a print shop. In the evening she looks after her mother, who is very critical of her daughter. When Elfi is unexpectedly invited out to the disco “Brooklyn” by a young colleague, a brief escape from her dull everyday routine seems possible. But the hoped-for romance does not materialise. Primarily filmed with a handheld camera and amateur actors, Elefantenhaut tells the story of a “simple” woman who manages to preserve her dignity and integrity.
