Lukas Marxt strides across the dried-out Salton Sea in California. With a rolling gait, in cowboy boots, we inspect its dimensions while a woman’s voice tells of the site’s historical layers. However, rather than the real site, Imperial Irrigation deals with its images: the narratives, genres, and ideo­lo­gies that have seasoned in us, and opens them up, to fabricate entirely new ones.
