John Smith films a busy street corner in London while an off-screen voice commands what should happen next. At first, the people walking into the picture follow the command-like and increasingly nervous commands, but then the image and sound begin to drift apart. As a critique of the voiceover dictates of cinema and television, the film remains entirely accurate even today. A plea for the free gaze!
