Everything is set for a bourgeois family gathering, only the birthday boy Hans is missing. The happy family façade increasingly starts to crumble – traumatic images of videoed violence overlay the events, becoming the pivotal focus of the story. Almost motionless the characters drag themselves through their lives, or what remains of them. Ludwig Wüst gives his actors time, and allows them space. Slowly, step by step, an unsettling suspicion is confirmed.
