In this tale of a generational-line of obsessions, the grandfather desires love, the son dedicates himself to the accelerated consumption of food, and the grandson devotes himself to the stuffing of animals although his desire for continuity far transcends this. “Taxidermia sets a benchmark for cinematic body horror. Part one is an explicit exercise in Central European ultramiserabilism, the middle segment is ghastly funny, on par with anything the Pythons ever dreamed up, and the climax one-ups David Cronenberg’s worst nightmare” (Eddie Cockrell, variety.com).
