Based on material filmed by Jörg Kalt and Eva Testor in New York City in 1998, Nina Kusturica designs an extraordinary portrait of the Little Italy district, which is in a state of upheaval due to the expansion of Chinatown. Beginning as a tourist exploration of a street of buildings, presenting the viewer with a foreign visitor’s typical New York pictures, the film develops to a complex observation of a neighborhood with which we grow ever more familiar.
