Egon Schiele was one of Vienna’s most provocative early twentieth-century artists. His life and work were shaped by eroticism and transience; his preference for childlike models put him on the wrong side of the law, and also into custody for a few weeks. Director Dieter Berner gives contours to Schiele’s oeuvre based on the formative women in the artist’s life.
