Gwendolyn, recently retired anthropologist, is a three time weightlifting world champion and still active at 65. Despite suffering cancer and facing another operation, she isn’t even thinking of taking a step back. Instead, she trains for the upcoming European Championships. Ruth Kaaserer empathically observes and portrays a multifaceted, strong and impressive personality, who takes her illness and aging with composure and humor: weightlifting as a passion and a metaphor for an attitude towards life.
