In 1981, Romy Schneider did a spectacular interview with “Stern” journalist Michael Jürgs in a spa hotel on the French Atlantic coast. Emily Atef reconstructs this encounter in aesthetic blackand- white, borrowing from Robert Lebeck’s photos made onsite at the time. With outstanding actors, Atef achieves a surprising convergence with the person behind the media image and penetration of the projection surface that was Romy Schneider.
