A visually stunning thriller taking place in the sea of Cortez, Mexico. The Totoaba fish’s air bladder is wanted of superstitious belief among some in China, leading to a flourishing mafia-based trade in the “cocaine of the sea.” Also the Vaquita, a rare species of whale, falls prey to illegal fishing. Sea of Shadows accompanies activists who with resolute courage and under extreme danger to their own lives, attempt to save the animals from extinction.
