Vienna, 1996: a mini-DV tape with footage for a student documentary. Alina and Flora interrogate less than credible witnesses to the appearance of extraterrestrial reptilian beings. Yet soon they slip more and more into the narrative: lizards that conquer humanity through hybridization? Sounds plausible. At some point, the Hofburg—and reason, in any case—are in flames. Michael Gülzow’s mockumentary is an absurd satire of the media logic behind conspiracy ideologies.
