AT/CH 1980, DCP, 89 min, dOFEight-two-year-old Mrs. Mörzinger meets a young Turkish woman in the park who asks her to “briefly” look after her newborn baby. The elderly woman’s attempts to return the baby, whom she calls “Ali” for the sake of simplicity, to his mother, lead to a series of tragicomic entanglements and misunderstandings; and the realization that a healthy dose of common sense will get you nowhere in Vienna—quite the contrary. A biting satire of the Austrian bureaucratic mentality, adorned with songs by Georg Danzer.
