Submissions for the Diagonale ’25 film competition were open from
September 2 until December 2, 2024.

Based on the submission criteria, films by Austrian filmmakers or filmmakers living in Austria as well as films with an Austrian production background could be submitted online.

If a film is successfully registered by December 2, 2024, viewing material can be submitted until December 6.

In addition to the festival directors (Dominik Kamalzadeh & Claudia Slanar), the screening team for the competition of the upcoming Diagonale also consists of Alex Gerbaulet (filmmaker & producer, DE), Matthias Lerf (film journalist, CH) and Bianca Jasmina Rauch (film journalist & curator, AT).

Participation in the Festival of Austrian Film will be confirmed or cancelled by the end of February at the latest.
