Roland Stöttinger
Mond
Jury Statement:
Seemingly without hesitation, the main character in Mond makes her decisions – and the editing pushes us right along with her from one scene to its consequence: before we know it, we are right in the middle of it, and now how can we ask: What is true, what is right? The editing and narrative correspond precisely in this extraordinary film, which raises more questions than it answers. And although the journey ultimately leads back home, there is little heroic about the return.

Michael Palm
Henry Fonda for President
Jury Statement:
To edit a three-hour film lecture from an overwhelming amount of material, one that remains engaging and spans such a wide temporal arc – from 1651 to the 1980s in the USA – and yet remains painfully politically relevant. Self-doubt becomes a word from the past. Following so many threads, invoking names, staging history, and layering stories like a road movie. All of this is an art.
